Hi, I’m Daveyva, the heart behind Blooming Arrow Events.
I live in Newington, Northern Virginia with my husband, two of our three children, and our two tiny sidekicks, Chloe and Lucy (our Chihuahuas). Our oldest son lives nearby with his wife, and together we’ve spent over 20 years rooted in the beautiful Newington Forest community. Surrounded by trees and winding walking trails, it truly feels like living in an enchanted forest—and that sense of magic deeply inspires my work.
When I’m not hosting workshops or dreaming up new events, you’ll usually find me volunteering at community social gatherings, antiquing and thrifting with friends, or enjoying the simple comfort of home. Creativity is woven into my everyday life. My husband built me a cozy “she shed” tucked into our backyard, which I decorate seasonally with a retro flair, and downstairs I have my beloved “lady lounge”—a small but mighty space that doubles as my office, crafting room, and favorite spot to curl up on the couch with my girls watching everything from feel-good shows to classic films.
Music is always part of the atmosphere. I love 90s house music and timeless favorites like George Michael, Duran Duran, and the Pet Shop Boys—a nod to my roots, as I was born in England and lived there until the 1980s.
At the heart of Blooming Arrow Events is my belief that everyone deserves time to create, connect, and do what makes them happy. My hope is to create cozy, welcoming spaces where people can slow down, try something new, and bloom in their own way.
